This directory was originally commissioned in 2008 by Yorkshire Forward as part of the Social Enterprise Humber project (which ended in April 2008). It is intended to be a comprehensive listing of all the social enterprises in the Humber sub-region.

Humberside Co-operative Development Agency developed the directory and is now maintaining it in a voluntary capacity. If you'd like to add an entry please create a new account by clicking on the "create an account" link on the bottom left hand side. Once you're account is created you'll be able to click on the "Add Entry" button on the directory page and then complete a form with your organisations information. We'll then check it and, provided everything is okay, approve it.

For the sake of definitions this site is for social enterprises, defined as organisations which gain the majority of their funding from trading activities (as opposed to donations and grants) and which are not for profit, co-operative or mutual. To qualify an organisation has to give a social benefit to a community (as opposed to an individual or small group of individuals) and/or a financial benefit to said community.
